Swedish Meatballs

Every week we take turns spinning the globe, then we blindly place our finger on a country. Wherever we land is where we have to try a recipe from the next week. We’ve been doing this for about 5 months now and it has been a lot of fun. We’ve tried some great food (Australia, Mexico, & Norway) but we’ve also had some less great food (New Guinea, Somalia, and Mali). It’s fun to try different cuisines from around the world, but it’s also a lot of fun trying new recipes from around the world. I think everyone gets in a rut when it comes to cooking and this has been a great way to mix it up!

This week we had Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, and a green salad. I found the recipe HERE. The recipe came out perfectly and they were really good. They definitely don’t taste like a traditional meatball though. They are seasoned with cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. The recipe calls for Allspice, but that’s a spice I just can’t have. We’ll spin again tonight to figure out what recipe to try next week!
